English for TESOL

This new course is starting on January 2012!

The English for TESOL course combines the study of General English with a particular emphasis on English related to teaching. It is suitable for those who are interested in pursuing a career in language teaching and also for those already involved in English language education.

The course is designed primarily to improve your level of English and, at the same time, help you feel comfortable with the main features of grammar, phonology and vocabulary in preparation for teacher training programmes, further studies in TESOL or participation in teacher development and training sessions.

The main features of the course include:

• Vocabulary development focusing on the vocabulary associated with the main concepts and themes in education generally and TESOL specifically
  
• Grammar input and practice
  
• TESOL readings and discussion in areas related to language learning theory and methodology, classroom practice, lesson planning and delivery and use of resources
  
• Presentation and discussion skills
  
• Writing skills
