Vocational and University Courses

Entry Tests are required for entry to Sydney College of English – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses, unless an IELTS or TOEFL test are supplied on application.

The recommended study plan given on the basis of these test results is a GUIDE only as this test does not include a speaking or listening component.

On arrival at the College, students will be interviewed and the results of the interview will be used together with the results of this written test to decide the best class for the student.

If the student’s speaking / listening level is lower than their written level, they will be placed in a lower level class and this may mean that the recommended study time will increase.

Students can request an interview by telephone or on Skype before departure.

Direct Entry

Students who complete either our EAP 2 or EAP3 programme can apply directly to any one of our articulation partner colleges to be accepted into certificate courses, diplomas, advanced diplomas, bachelor or master courses without having to take an IELTS entry test.

This is provided students meet the academic requirements of these institutions and is subject to vacancies and the availability of programmes at these institutions.
