My teaching career began in 1999 working for a large English language provider in Osaka, Japan. Shortly after, I assumed a more senior role in the company mentoring new teachers. Seven years later, I returned to Australia to work for a large globally respected English language school where I gained experience teaching all levels in General English, Business English and TOEIC. This invaluable opportunity drove my desire to seek out new career challenges, so in 2011 I was given the opportunity to work at Sydney College of English teaching EAP, IELTS and OET.

  • Masters of Applied Linguistics and TESOL
  • Level 4 Certificate in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages(CELTA)
  • Bachelor of Arts. Major in Political Science

Teaching isn’t just a job, it’s an art form that allows me the freedom to be creative in my lesson planning. Although students do reach their learning outcomes when lessons are well prepared, they also gain a higher level of achievement when the lessons are more creative and engaging. I take great pride in my lesson planning and feel a great sense of satisfaction when I see the joy and fulfilment on the student’s faces after a lesson. Yes, teaching is a job, but for me, it’s a lifetime’s artwork that invigorates the creative mind for both my students and me as a teacher.
